Harmons has begun the deployment of EMV chip card compliant payment on Bennett Pacific dispensers utilizing Infonet’s C-Store Commander. The level 3 EMV certification was completed on September 10, 2020 on the Fiserv / First Data network. Harmons will roll out EMV chip card payment and contactless NFC (near field communication) at the forecourt across their entire network by year end. “It was great working with the Harmons and Bennett team on this EMV certification,” said Vilson Chalissery, President of Infonet. This project consisted of developing a custom solution for Harmons to integrate with their loyalty system and also developing a solution to transfer all sales data from each store to their head office system as the sale happens, we’re very happy with the end result and level 3 certification.
Gilbarco-The USDA has begun doling out the funds from HBIIP to increase the use of biofuels in America. So far, the agency has released $22 million to fund biofuel projects in California, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Utah and Wisconsin.
- In Iowa, United Farmers’ Cooperative will use a $93,000 grant to replace six dispensers and two storage tanks at a fueling station. This project is estimated to increase ethanol sales by nearly 300,000 gallons per year.
- In Wisconsin, BP Kenosha Travel Plaza LLC will use a $378,000 grant to replace and install 20 dispensers and a storage tank at two fueling stations. This project is estimated to increase ethanol sales by 1.6 million gallons per year.
- Southeast Petro Distribution will use a $3.5 million grant to replace and install 113 dispensers and 48 storage tanks at 26 fueling stations in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama. This investment is estimated to increase ethanol sales by 1.7 million gallons per year.
February 15, 2020 – Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS), a part of Dover Corporation, has recently partnered with Shell to co-develop and roll out Self-Checkout Kiosk across a number of Shell fueling stations in the Netherlands in order to reduce queues and improve the purchasing experience for its customers. Equipped with the DFS Self-Checkout Kiosk, visitors to Shell sites are now able to scan for their own fuel, as well as in-store products, and make their purchases in a single, harmonised transaction. After a series of successful tests, Shell plans to extend the solution to its deli by Shell stations (sites with bakery service) in the coming weeks in order to promote an all-inclusive experience, with the vision of rolling out the solution to its motorway service stations later in the year.
