Oct 2020-Egger’s first plant in North America – the new particleboard operation at Lexington, North Carolina – has produced its first board. After a construction period of over two years and an investment of around €440m, the plant now becomes Egger’s 20th plant worldwide. In keeping with tradition, the project team gathered at the Siempelkamp ContiRoll press to produce the first raw chipboard and proudly signed the result. In full operation, the production capacity will be 650,000m3 of raw particleboard per year, a large part of which will be finished with decorative surfaces.

June 29, 2020 - ARAUCO announced the addition of Fibrex Beadboard to its Fibrex High Density Fiberboard (HDF) line produced at the company’s St. Stephen, N.B., and facility. The durable, HDF beadboard, for residential and commercial interiors, is offered in both two inch and four inch on-center groove patterns. Fibrex Beadboard is offered in a standard thickness of 4.8 mm, with standard sheets sizes of 48” x 96” and 32” x 48” ideal for wainscot. Custom thicknesses are available from 4.8 mm up to 6 mm, as well as cut-to-size (CTS) options with applicable minimum purchase volumes. The beadboard panel is also available raw with these standard and custom options. Shipments are underway.
